Cake Contract/Worksheet

Down Payment: A down payment of 20% to reserve the date is expected at the time of reservation.

Final Payment: The total amount due must be paid two weeks prior to your event date.

Pick Up/Delivery: We encourage our clients to have our staff deliver wedding cakes to their reception. If you are picking up a cake we strongly urge you to use a vehicle with a large flat surface and something with fold down seats allowing for air conditioning to reach the cake. Texas is hot – cakes do not like to be hot and will shed their iced coverings in order to cool themselves. Speed is not a factor. Cakes don’t care how fast you go as long as you don’t slam on the brakes at the light or cause G-forces going around a corner. Never hold a cake in your lap; you will wind up wearing it or require therapy from the stress. Rural areas – avoid the gravel, washboard and pot holes; drive slowly on them.

Additional deposits for stands: Cakes require support and we use heavy duty stands. These stands can be added to the cost of your cake if you wish to purchase them or you may pay an additional deposit. Cake stands must be returned the week following your event or you will loose your deposit. Damage or loss to stands will result in a charge that will be deducted from your deposit. We have a silver cake pedestal to rent.

Flowers: It is recommended that you allow us to make arrangements for the flowers (live, silk or sugar) for your cake. If you decide to provide us with flowers we will be happy to provide you with the dimensions of your cake for you to make arrangements. We will not retrieve flowers from your florist. However, we will be happy to arrange them on the cakes if they are at the reception at time of the cake delivery but are not responsible for the final appearance when insufficient quantities are received.

Cancellations: A cancellation may be made up to four weeks before the event. In the event of cancellation the down payment will be refunded within 30 days; cancellation up to two weeks - refund minus 20% down payment.

Guarantee: While we make every effort to provide exactly the flavors, fillings, decorations, sizes, shapes and colors you have requested, the creation of a cake is art and may be subject to slight variations by the creator(s). I promise you the best product and service I can provide.

Our Obligation: Should an unforeseeable event occur which prevents us from fulfilling our obligation and we must cancel our agreement with you, we will refund your payment in full and will work with you to find another qualified bakery to assist you with your wedding cake and will cooperate in transferring materials to the new baker.
